OHS Zonta Club Holds Annual Induction Ceremony

The Oneida High School Zonta Club proudly held its Induction Ceremony in the Oneida High School Auditorium, welcoming a new group of dedicated members into the Zonta community.
The event marked a significant moment of growth and commitment to Zonta International's mission of advancing the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. This year marked the club’s 57th year at Oneida High School.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome from OHS’ Principal, Erin Belanger, and Club advisors, Patricia Vaccaro and Haley Wise, who highlighted the importance of Zonta’s work locally and globally. Guests and members were reminded of the organization’s legacy, founded in 1919.
Following introductory remarks, the official induction was conducted by Club President Hayleigh C. and Vice President Kristina T., who led the ceremonial oath. Each new member was individually introduced, presented with their Zonta carnation, and participated in the candle lighting ceremony. The atmosphere was one of celebration, unity, and shared purpose.
Golden Zonta members from the local Oneida Chapter, Carol Bandlow, Shelly Coe, and Barb Allen, concluded the evening with closing remarks, a reaffirmation of the club’s goals, and a call to action for both new and existing members to actively contribute to upcoming projects and initiatives.
The Oneida High School Zonta Club looks forward to the contributions and fresh perspectives of its newest members as they work together to build a better world for women and girls.
