Jim Maio, of Oneida, is serving his first five-year term on the Board of Education. He is presently serving as the Board’s President. Jim is a 20-year district resident and is a local graduate of Fabius-Pompey High School and later a graduate of St. Bonaventure University, earning as BA in Psychology. He then continued his education at St. Bonaventure, earning a MS.Ed in Counseling. Jim has worked at Mohawk Valley Community College for past 20 years where he began his career as a counselor. He currently serves as the Dean for Student Enrollment and Development. In this role, Jim has oversight over the recruitment function, the intake and onboarding processes, the office of Financial Aid, as well as the student support services.
Jim and his wife Kim have daughter, who is a 2020 graduate of Oneida and is currently is finishing up her B.A. from the University at Albany.
Martin Kelly, of Oneida, is seeking his second five-year term on the Board of Education. Martin and his wife Megan have lived in Oneida for two decades. He is a graduate of Le Moyne College with a B.A. in History. He also earned his M.S. Ed and later completed his teaching certification at Le Moyne College. Martin is currently working as a teacher in the Cazenovia School District and his wife is a member of the faculty here in Oneida. Martin is the proud father of two Oneida high school students. He enjoys attending their varsity games, band and choir concerts and the amazing drama productions. Martin values the educational opportunities that the Oneida City School District provides for his children and the children of his friends and neighbors. He believes our children have been challenged, inspired and cared for and is grateful to our district.
