First grade students in Mrs. Haeger’s class were practicing their early writing skills through a sentence completion and illustration activity focused on expressive language and idea development.

Students were prompted to finish the sentence, “I like the beach because…”, encouraging them to practice forming complete thoughts and use descriptive language.

After writing their sentences, students extended their learning by creating illustrations to visually represent their ideas.
