Oneida’s Molly Myatt Places Tenth at New York State Class C Cross Country Championship!
The Oneida City School District is proud to celebrate the accomplishments of Molly Myatt, who recently competed at the New York State Class C Cross Country Championship in Queensbury, NY. Molly earned her spot by recently becoming the Class C Section III Champion, and she finished an impressive 10th place at the state level, a remarkable achievement that highlights her dedication and skill throughout the season.
Reflecting on her season, Molly shared her excitement about qualifying for States and her journey to get there:
"I was very excited to win the Class C Section 3 Championship and qualify for States this season. The highlight of my season was winning TVLs alongside my team."
She also spoke about the support and motivation she received from those around her:
"My teammates and my coach motivate me through the tough practices and races. Our coach prepared us starting in early summer so that we would be ready for the fall season."
Molly described how her passion for running began and what makes cross country so rewarding:
"I started racing when I was younger and was excited to start competing for my school. Cross country is a great team sport, and the environment is so positive and fulfilling."
Finally, she offered encouragement to anyone thinking about joining the sport:
"I would encourage anyone who is even slightly considering it to give it a try."
Molly’s hard work, leadership, and passion for cross country have made this a memorable season. The district is proud of her achievements and grateful for the support of her coach and teammates throughout the year.
