Flood of Thanks: Featuring Hollie Ackerman and her Food Service Team

This week’s #FloodOfThanks goes out to Hollie Ackerman and her dedicated Food Service Staff who went above and beyond when the power was shut off at the High School. Acting fast under Hollie’s leadership, the team came up with a plan to save all the food — loading it into refrigerated trailers to prevent any waste.
With guidance from Lynne Collins, the staff also rolled up their sleeves to clean, sanitize, and close down all kitchen sites, ensuring everything is ready for a fresh start in September. They even completed a full food inventory to stay organized and prepared.
Meanwhile, Lynne and several Food Service employees continue to serve meals as part of the Summer Free Meal Program at Seneca Street Elementary, making sure no child goes hungry during the break.
To keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes, Hollie and her secretary Ally have now set up a new office at OSMS, continuing the vital work of food service record keeping and planning.
We’re so grateful for this incredible team — their quick thinking, hard work, and heart for our students make all the difference.
