Oneida CSD Students Shine at American Legion Boys' State

The following upcoming senior students from Oneida CSD were honored to represent our district at the American Legion Boys' State:
- Ryan Cashman
- Grady Gaudet
- Mitchell Griffing
- Sullivan (Sully) Krol
- Jack LeWorthy
- Henry (Quinn) Ruddy
This year, they achieved a record by sending the most bills to the Senate. Sully also represented Oneida in the Boys State Band as the resident "Taps" player. Over 700 students attended the event.
The American Legion Boys' State is a week-long program that immerses rising high school seniors in citizenship and leadership training. Participants learn the practical aspects of government as it operates in New York State and recognize the importance of the individual within the character and success of government. The program also includes physical training, teamwork, and various activities under the guidance of American Legion counselors and U.S. Marines.
Boys' State is an objective citizenship training program that emphasizes individual responsibility to the community, state, and nation. It is based on the political government organization that exists in New York State, encompassing all levels from municipalities to the state government.
