OHS Students Explore Construction Careers

OHS students participated in the Mohawk Valley Construction Career Day held at the Oneida County Department of Public Works Building. This event offered a fantastic opportunity for students to gain insights into various career paths within the construction industry.
Throughout the day, students were educated on a multitude of specialized fields, including crane operation, electrical work, welding, and more. The event was designed to be engaging and hands-on, featuring numerous interactive exhibits and trade displays that encouraged student participation.
One of the highlights of the day was the chance for students to operate heavy machinery, giving them a firsthand experience of what it's like in the field. They also had the privilege of observing skilled tradespeople showcase their crafts, including welding and electrical installation.
Additionally, students were provided with lunch, further enhancing the enjoyable learning environment of the day.
