Save a Life Tour Comes to OHS

The Oneida City Police Department made it possible for OHS juniors and seniors to participate in the Save a Life Tour, which focused on the critical issue of distracted driving.
During the assembly, students engaged in a Speaking Presentation that provided in-depth information on the risks associated with distracted driving. They viewed informative visuals, including actual footage and images of crashes, along with compelling victim stories that highlighted the real-world impact of these incidents. Additionally, they experienced an Interactive Demonstration, simulating the effects of impaired and distracted driving to foster a deeper understanding of its dangers. Students also completed a survey and filled out a pledge card committing to safer driving habits.
The Save A Life Tour is a global initiative aimed at showcasing the severe consequences of unsafe driving practices. This educational program has reached a vast audience, having been presented to students at over 1,500 colleges and universities, as well as more than 600 high schools across the country, emphasizing the importance of making responsible choices while driving.
We thank Save a Life for this informative presentation, and we’d also like to send a warm thank you to Oneida PD for making this possible and for being present at the event with their informational booth!
