OSMS Students Make Pizza
In Mrs. Martin-Pearson's Home and Careers class at Otto Shortell Middle School, 6th grade students participated in an educational food lab focused on pizza-making! As part of this hands-on experience, they not only learned how to prepare delicious pizzas but also how to assemble pizza boxes for taking their creations home. This cooking experience serves as an excellent opportunity to incorporate nutrition education, emphasizing the importance of meal planning and making good choices. Additionally, cooking fosters a sense of responsibility among students; each student is assigned a specific task that contributes to both the preparation of the meal and the subsequent cleanup, teaching valuable life skills such as teamwork and accountability.
