OHS Spanish Students Recreate Authentic Spanish Cuisine

Mrs. Gleason's Spanish 3 class at OHS organized an engaging potluck featuring authentic Spanish cuisine as part of an extra credit project. This initiative allowed students to delve deeper into the culinary traditions of Spanish-speaking countries, enhancing their understanding of the culture through food.
Students who volunteered were provided with a variety of authentic recipes, which they recreated and brought to share with their classmates. Dishes included empanadas, Spanish tortillas (tortilla española), and rice pudding (arroz con leche), among others. Each dish not only provided a delicious tasting experience but also sparked engaging discussions.
This potluck was more than just a meal—it was a fantastic opportunity for students to immerse themselves in Spanish culture. By participating in this culinary experience, students developed a deeper appreciation for the diverse flavors, ingredients, and traditions that characterize Spanish cuisine, reinforcing their language learning in a fun and interactive way.
