Mrs. Christine Cronk, a Mathematics teacher at Oneida High School, has been named as a Master Teacher in New York State.
Cronk was chosen by the New York State Education Department following a lengthy process of written submissions, observed lessons and in person interviews.
Christine Cronk earned her BS in Secondary Education and Mathematics from Utica College of Syracuse University and her MS in Education, Mathematics 6 – 8 from Walden University. Mrs. Cronk currently teaches Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 at Oneida City School District in Oneida, NY. She also serves as a co-advisor for the Junior Class, a role she has held for the past eleven years and truly enjoys due to the interactions and relationships that she has made with the student body while planning events throughout the year. In addition, she is an adjunct instructor at SUNY Morrisville and has found this experience rewarding and truly believes that it has given her a unique opportunity to offer her high school students insights into their future collegiate and career paths. Mrs. Cronk participated as a Teacher Ambassador on Common Core standards, attending various conferences to train with the writers of the math modules for Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. She also is a member of the National Teachers Council of Mathematics. As a newly appointed Master Teacher, Mrs. Cronk is excited to share her passion for teaching with her peers through Professional Learning Teams and discover innovative means which she can apply within her classroom to encourage and engage her students within the content of STEM.
