OCSD Elementary Playground Safety

As you know, the safety of our students is our most important priority.  We take pride in the safe, structured, and nurturing environment that our staff provides for our students.  After school hours, the playgrounds at our Oneida elementary schools have become an unsafe environment. Numerous situations have required involvement from the Oneida and State Police Department.

Playground rules were recently created for our playgrounds due to an increase in inappropriate behavior during the afternoon and evening hours. Students who are not associated with our Elementary Schools made decisions that negatively impacted children and families wishing to use the space, as well as endangering their own safety with some of their choices.  Adult supervision is required at all times for all children.
