I am truly honored to be your Oneida High School Principal. My hope is that you and your families are enjoying a restful summer vacation. The summer is a wonderful time to spend quality time with family and friends. It provides us time to reflect on the past year and set new goals and outcomes for ourselves.

Over the past few years our community has been through many changes. As we move forward, we must look to our traditions of educational excellence and challenge ourselves to become better by establishing a work ethic that rivals our global competition.

Now more than ever, we realize the importance of being prepared and being self-reliant. The pandemic has taught us how fragile many of our institutions are. It is imperative that we position ourselves to be more competitive within the global market place. We must teach our students that failing to prepare, is preparing to fail. We have to motivate our children to be self-reliant and resilient.

As Americans, we are fortunate to live in a country with a vast array of opportunities and career options. Our education system enables students to choose a career pathway that will lead them to an independent and self-reliant lifestyle. It does, however, require a student to take advantage of the opportunities and to work hard. Nothing replaces hard work. The United States has been built upon hard work and perseverance. In the years ahead, I will challenge our students to be present and to work hard. I will, also, remind them that sometimes failure teaches great lessons. Our students should not fear failure and learn that the only true failure is not trying harder the next time.

Oneida High School will provide our students with a solid foundation for their future. Through this journey we will reinforce and support each other like bricks in a wall!

Hail to thee, Oneida High!
