OCSD Opens Search for K-12 Executive Principal

The Oneida City School District is accepting applications for the position of Executive Principal. This experienced school leader will work to engage students, staff, and community members in working to reach the goals of the district. 

The leader we are seeking for our district must have districtwide NYS certification and experience with building and district level administration. Preference will be given for experience with students with disabilities and/or students in poverty. 

Candidates should demonstrate the following qualities and skills: 

Educational Leadership 
- Engages and inspires faculty and staff to develop and realize plans for improving student achievement; engages in problem solving; reflects on goals, vision, and decisions; builds collaborative teams for effective decision making; flexible and adapts to changing situations builds relationships with students, staff and stakeholders; and addresses policies and procedures through creative strategies.

Leadership in Student Achievement
- Establishes high expectations for student achievement that are communicated to students, parents, and educators. Oversees academic programs to best meet the diverse needs of our students including Social Emotional Learning, Career/College readiness, school climate/student engagement, and attendance programs. 

Exemplary Communication- Works in partnership with our administrative staff through transparent, effective communication to create an informed community and improved student achievement; builds consensus; and follows through on decisions and commitments. Student and Community Focused- Focuses on both the academic and personal growth of all students; recognizes challenges presented by diverse student populations; committed to being highly visible; and encourages family and community involvement in our schools.
