The majority of colleges prefer that students apply on-line. Many schools have their own applications right on their website. Others use the Common Application (www.commonapp.org ) or SUNY Application (http://www.suny.edu/student/). 

If you apply on-line, make sure you tell your school counselor so he/she knows to send your supporting documents.

Info on the Excelsior Scholarship:
Under this groundbreaking initiative, the Excelsior Scholarship, in combination with other student-financial aid programs, allows students to attend a SUNY or CUNY college tuition-free.
